Chicago's Mayor: Fatal Flaw?

@sinbadbad Re: #celebrityapprentice
Three things about the show so far: 1) Osbourne is right - “it’s like a fucking Star Wars bar in here!”. Part of the appeal. 2) Celeb Apprentice is really all about the fine art of throwing opponents under the bus. Blago played you! He threw you under at the jump (which is why Donald tried to give you an out); you should have rejected the gambit, Sinbad. The game was over in...
@dmcox Your "Hurt Locker" review
I’ll keep it brief. To paraphrase Dennis Green concerning the Chicago Bears, Kathryn Bigelow’s film is what I thought it would be. Pandering PC-ness. You want badass, see Miranda Kwok’s work. Wiki Kwok. “The Hurt Locker”: two and one half stars.
@tracyswartz CTA Etiquette Faux Pas
RT “what would u do if u saw rider clip nails on the #cta? “ http://bit.ly/bQ2kGD
Tracy, I had to take this to tumblr; 140 ain’t gonna cut it. :)
(1) Clipping fingernails? Please. Last November. I saw a woman on the northbound #6 take off her shoes and socks (~57th and the Museum) AND BEGIN TO PICK HER FEET! Driver said nothing. I’ve seen feet-picking two other times, all...

Rep. Trent Franks (R)/Arizona: “…Far more of the African American community is being devastated by the policies of today than were being devastated by the policies of slavery.”
Yeah, and if I put your fat ass in chains, sold you, and took your wife as chattel, dollars to donuts your mindset would flip in a nanosecond…
The entire COUNTRY is being devastated by blowback...
A Valentines Day Tale
Several years back, I went all-out on V Day for a new girlfriend of one month. Decided to cook; resurrected a classic, decidedly old-school French recipe for coq au vin. Tackled it like a chemistry project. Laborious. Even made my own bouquet garni.
Went out for wine, and when I re-entered the apartment, the smell was so fabulous, it turned ME on!
Neighborhood dogs were protesting with signs in...
P90x Plyometrics 1st Time
Just finished Plyo; I placed it on Sun. because I do interval training on Tues. and Thurs. (22 min. jog, 7 x 15 sec. intervals, recovering on the run), along with Ab Ripper X.
Plyometrics is no joke (even Horton drops the “S”-bomb halfway thru). The upper 1/3 of my t-shirt is as wet as if I had been running for 30 min. in 70 deg. weather.
Well thought-out routine, but perhaps too...

If NBC serves fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread and black-eyed peas for Black History Month, what would they serve for White History Month?

Re: the iPad
Earlier, I called Apple’s new tablet a big iPhone; that was far too generous (and incorrect - I should have said “big iPod Touch” :) ). Basically, the iPad is a glorified Kindle.
The form factor is…awkward (read: LARGE). With no camera/video capture, creativity and communications are seriously hampered. No multitasking. No Flash support. And they’re asking between...

A Hip Terrestrial (AC) Radio Station
Found myself head-bobbing while driving to the grocery store yesterday; someone left the tuner on an amazingly well-programmed station: WTMX 101.9 Chicago.
It’s basically adult contemporary, but they’ve hit on a winning formula.
Works in the car, and pretty good for upbeat web surfing, too. :)
Here’s the live Net widget: WTMX On-air playlist
Laugh, but remember - communication is a Key. →
“By your blessing, may these phones and computers symbols of all the technology and communication in our daily lives, be a reminder to us that you are a God who communicates with us and who speaks by your Word. Amen.”
As Shakespeare was fond of saying, “Walk it off, woman” ;) RT @tammyphinney Last nights party included a “Canadian Redneck Ice Luge”; fun reliving collage days; except for the octopus on my head today. R-E-M-O-R-S-E.

Google just threw down; you gotta love the “sweet talk” of their vp for product management: “…when cool apps meet a fast, bright and connected computer that fits in your pocket. The Nexus One belongs in the emerging class of devices which we call ‘superphones’…”
Google’s whole approach to communications is far-sighted, hip and, frankly,...
Happy New Year! ...another word from R....
“Everything you’ve learned in school as ‘obvious’ becomes less and less obvious as you begin to study the universe. For example, there are no solids in the universe. There’s not even a suggestion of a solid. There are no absolute continuums. There are no surfaces. There are no straight lines.”

Considering director George Stevens →
I’m watching “The Greatest Story Ever Told” for the 1st time in ~8 years, and marvelling at George Stevens’ powerful visual touch, nuances and resonances.

#SYTYCD Final 8 and Finale
@miamilegacy I had it between you and Ashleigh for the Win. That’s right - I said it. ;) You got robbed because of fan desire to see a husband/wife team in the finals. Walk it off, big man; you handled that loss with class.
Your growth curve on the show was phenomenal. Sure, Jakob is brilliant, and can handle the “classical” stuff better than you at this stage, but you can...

Music and Exercise →
Interesting Guy Kawasaki article on music as a very strong booster for exercise.
I’ve found that ambient works best for me for running, and symphonic for weight lifting (quite a switch from “deep house”, which I used to use for both).
Roku's New Channel Store
If you have Roku, I suggest you not wait for the update, but visit the website and get (simple) instructions on a manual update.
The 10 channels now being offered are a little weak, but you’ll immediately see the vast potential behind this approach.
